The Mentorship Program introduces developers - like myself - to TYPO3 in a one-on-one process aided by mentors that are experienced in the CMS.

The first session I had with Tomas was getting to know each other and a run down of the TYPO3 backend and installing TYPO3 of course.

This session was cool. It reminded me of how I set up my WordPress blog, but with a bunch more options to play with. I'm curious; what else can I do with a different installation

Tomas and I both agree that more time should be given to this part of TYPO3. The single chapter is hardly sufficient.

Forms were really cool. Especially when I got to see the settings I made in action - what happens on submitting.

Extensions were different, there is a bit more to setup to get them working. But when you get that done, you can do some cool things.

Who sees what, when and for how long? This was the focus of this session - access. Access for frontend and backend users.

While I fully don't get the Fluid Templating Engine, I understand how it can simplify the task of creating really complex sites.
